Plans for Cabinfest '09

Looking at the last weekend of June (6/26 - 6/28) for the '09 gathering. It falls between Father's Day and July 4th. Lemme know if this works for you. Obviously there is plenty of time to reconsider - will look to lock in a date in January.

Shrouded in Controversy

The 2008 relay was one we'll be talking about for years to come. In the finals, it was Matt K. and Dan N. vs. Philly P. and Andy I (Hey everbody - Have you met Andy Ioele?!!!). It appeared that Matt and Dan had the race locked when it was brought to their attention that one of their horseshoe throws was not a point. They bolted back down to rethrow while Phil and Andy got their chipshot on the deck, downed their beverages and claimed the victory. After some serious deliberation, race officials ruled that the race would need to be rerun. The "gondoliering" was eliminated and the beer chug was replaced with shots. The participants agreed to split the prize money but only 1 team could be declared victors. When the dust settled, Matt and Dan took top honors, while Phil and Andy had some cold hard cash for their efforts! Fun was had by all but the 2008 Cabinfest relay will always be remembered as "shrouded in controversy!"

Cabinfest Dictionary - Channeling Benway

"Channeling Benway" - verb - 1) To delay or avoid eating to enhance the effects of alcohol. "I'll eat that steak later - I'm channeling Benway". 2) To begin a story with everyone's attention only to run off topic and thoroughly confuse and annoy those listening. "Steve was telling a story about his first time but after a while it became obvious that he was just channeling Benway".

"Ask not what Cabinfest can do for you but what you can do for Cabinfest"

If we all bring something for the masses we can each spend a little less time packing/spending our hard earned cash, etc. Matt Dean (aka LotionMaster) has graciously offered up a keg of microbrew. Solid!!! Are you planning on bringing something, cooking a meal, serving up some apps or some fine wine, etc? Post it here on this blog so we all know not to bring what you'll be bringing. You really are a good guy aren't you?!
